Why did you become a group fitness instructor/personal trainer? 

I started as a group fitness instructor my sophomore year of college at the U of M. I loved taking classes there and thought, hey I’m loud and full of energy! I should just teach!! Since graduating and becoming an Air Force officer, I have had 9 different duty stations over 19 years. I’ve taught group fitness at every one of them – including my last assignment at the Pentagon! I love fitness so much I decided to get my Master’s in Exercise Physiology and picked up a few other certifications along the way. Being fit is a big part of military service and teaching group fitness has helped me stay on track in uniform as well 😊 

What drew you to Fitaholic?

My long-time bestie Lisa has been talking to me about Fitaholic for a while. If you know Lisa, she’s relentless!! I was scheduled to start teaching at another gym, but thought I’d try the 3 free class option. I loved it! The music was bumping, the people were great, and I got an amazing butt-kicking every class I came to!

Describe your coaching style…

High intensity & maximum FUN!! If you showed up for the workout, I’m going to help ensure you put 110% in so you’ll leave thinking “DAAAANG I’m glad I came today!” 

What should people expect in a 45-minute class with you?

Energy, positivity and to work up a heck of a sweat!!

Do you have a favorite quote you lean on?

“Hustle & Heart Will Set You Apart!” 

Personal mantra?

After getting (very) out of shape after a study abroad in Italy, I decided I was never going to let that happen again. So personal mantra – you never have to get back into shape if you never get out of it!!

Favorite way to work out?

Surrounded by motivated individuals in any form – on a stationary bike, in a class, in the weight room… 

My music style is…

Totally dependent upon the mood I’m in! Lots of rock, 90’s, remixes, anything with a good beat for me to get after it 😊
